Join a Team
Many of our volunteers love the community found on our teams. Each team meets on a regular basis to work towards self-determined goals such as building union support for divestment, planning actions, or meeting with key stakeholders to convince them to support fossil free investments.

Our Divestment is a team of state workers, educators, and retirees who are strategizing about how to build support for CalPERS and CalSTRS fossil fuel divestment within their unions. The team includes a many members from SEIU, California Teachers Association, CASE, as well as several other unions.
The Labor Solidarity supports public sector workers organizing against Newsom’s Return to Office orders, and will mobilize the climate movement to support striking workers and other labor causes.uplifts union campaigns and stands in solidarity with workers on the strike line.
Our Collaborating for Climate Justice Team is fighting against federal threats to climate protections in California and nationally in coalition with numerous other organizations. Their primary campaigns are passing Make Polluters Pay, demanding No Immunity for Big Oil, and standing against opening Bureau of Land Management land for oil and gas drilling in California.
The Water's Edge Team is creating a coalition of environmental organizations to uplift the SEIU led legislation which would roll back California's largest corporate tax loophole which was created by the fossil fuel industry. Passing the Waters Edge rollback, would result in billions of dollars returned to California which among other things would help cover the rising costs of healthcare under the Trump administration.
The Fossil Fueled Fascism Team is developing a coalition and strategy around the nexus of the fossil fuel industry and the rise of fascism.
Our Fossil-Free 529 College Savings team works with parents and concerned Californians to advocate for fossil-free investment options for the state-run ScholarShare plan for Californians’ college savings.
Our Communications Team supports our campaigns, educates the public, and inspires climate action through art, words, social media, and other projects.
Fossil Free California's Fundraising Team seeks funding to support all of the campaign work carried out by other teams, including grants, donations, and fundraising events.
